The village of Beulah is located in Benzie County, in the Traverse City metro area. Beulah is the county seat and has been recognized as one of the fastest growing counties in Michigan.
Beulah rests on the southeast shore of Crystal Lake about one-mile north of on U.S. Highway 31 and about 7 miles east of Lake Michigan and has long been known as a summer vacation destination.
It has several hundred feet of sandy shore, a beach house, tennis courts, a playground and parking. Swimming is great at the beach with its sandy bottom and safely marked swimming area.
Beulah was incorporated as a village in 1932 and has two commercial areas. One area is known as "downtown" Beulah and the other is referred to as the US-31 corridor. The mainstay of businesses in Beulah operate year-round with only a few being seasonal.
Shopping opportunities abound for art, flowers, fresh produce, jewelry, antiques, home decor, clothing, kayaks and kayaking accessories, gifts and books along with an ice cream shop and mini-golf course.
Along the main street you will discover the Post Office, legal services, financial and accounting services, land conservancy organizations, hair salons, churches, community services, insurance agents, dental care, counseling services, restaurants, bars, delis, medical care, photocopying services and lodging.
